As a seasoned traveler and former food critic, my recent stay at the Sleep Inn & Suites Port Charlotte-Punta Gorda left me with mixed feelings. the room was surprisingly updated and cozy, a pleasant surprise for an older property. the staff were exceptional, adding warmth to our three-night stay. However, the heavily perfumed room and encounters with bugs were off-putting. On the bright side, the free breakfast was delightful, offering a great start to each day. the hotel's convenient location and reasonable pricing were definite highlights. the property's amenities, such as the outdoor heated pool and fitness center, added value to our experience. While the hotel offers a meeting room and business center, perfect for events and corporate functions, it fell short in terms of cleanliness. the presence of bugs in the room was a significant drawback that tainted an otherwise pleasant stay. In summary, the Sleep Inn & Suites Port Charlotte-Punta Gorda has potential, with its friendly staff and convenient facilities, but attention to cleanliness is paramount for an enjoyable guest experience. My suggestions to the management would be to address the pest issue promptly and maybe consider using a subtler room fragrance to enhance guest comfort.
